Elliott is a tenured professor currently serving his fourth term as chair of the Economics Department. His past university roles included Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Administration, Director of the University Core Curriculum, Chair of the University Faculty Senate, and Co-Editor of the China Economic Review.

Jeremy Gelman, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Political Science at UNR
Jeremy Gelman is an associate professor of political science at the University of Nevada, Reno. His research examines American political institutions, with a focus on Congress.
Gelman is the author of Losing to Win: Why Congressional Majorities Play Politics Instead of Make Laws (University of Michigan Press, 2020) and Posting for Power: Congressional Partisanship on Social Media (with Steven Wilson, University of Michigan Press, 2026). His research has been published in a number of journals, including Legislative Studies Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, and Party Politics. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Center for Effective Lawmaking, the Dirksen Congressional Center and the Dole Institute of Politics. He has provided commentary on national and Nevada politics for dozens of news outlets.
Before joining the faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno, he was an APSA Congressional Fellow. Gelman received a B.A. in distributed studies from the University of Colorado and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Michigan.

Eric Neugeboren is a Politics and Data Reporter based in Reno. He joined The Indy in June 2023 as an intern after graduating from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Journalism and Government & Politics. In his four years there, he worked on the student newspaper, The Diamondback, as a staff writer, news editor and assistant managing editor. He has previously interned with The Texas Tribune, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Voice of America and The Maryland Daily Record.
He was the recipient of the Nevada Press Foundation's 2025 Journalist of Merit award.
Eric grew up in Maryland and has always been fascinated by politics and policy. He enjoys hiking, trivia and reading.

Tabitha Mueller is the Capital Bureau Chief for The Nevada Independent, where she leads coverage of state government, politics and policy. Since joining_ The Indy_ as an intern in 2020, she has reported on the human impact of state policy and conducted investigations focused on accountability.
Her work has earned multiple honors, including the Nevada Press Association’s 2023 Journalist of Merit, the 2024 Media Representative of the Year from the Nevada Human Services Network, and first place in narrative nonfiction from the Las Vegas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2022. She was selected as a Poynter-Koch Media & Journalism Fellow in 2021 and was a USC Center for Health Journalism National Fellow in 2024.
